Doesn't the ubuntu-restricted-extras package do the same thing?
  • cwillu · 1 year ago
"sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras" will install flash, java, almost any codecs you're likely to need, and java. Dvd support still requires the use of the medi repositories however.

Any chance these instructions could be updated for Intrepid? For whatever reason, Intrepid can't read the file created by medibuntu.list

Yeah, ubuntu-restricted-extras does mostly of those steps in a single package - just apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras - thats the official way of doing that too, so it will probably never break on updates.
