@Adam - Not that I know of, Apple seems to force the side dock to be 2D and from this article I can understand why.

The 3D dock on its side is terrible. However, I have learned to like the 3D dock on the bottom, except for the reflections and open application indicators. To be honest I can see NO reason for the dock to reflect windows, very annoying and of ZERO benefit.
